PC-MOS/386 is a multi-user, multitasking operating system produced by The Software Link, announced at COMDEX in November 1986 for release in February 1987. A successor to PC-MOS, it can run many MS-DOS programs on the host machine or on a terminal connected to it, and unlike MS-DOS it is optimized for the Intel 80386 processor, though early versions will run on any x86 computer; it was proprietary until being released as open-source software in 2017.
