Raku, formerly known as Perl 6, is a member of the Perl family of programming languages, originally initiated by Larry Wall in 2000 as a redesign of Perl 5, and renamed to Raku in October 2019. Raku introduces elements from many modern and historical languages, and features a strong, gradual type system, native support for grammars, and multiple dispatch, while remaining a general-purpose, multi-paradigm scripting language.
