Rebol

Rebol is a cross platform, multi paradigm, dynamically typed programming language designed by Carl Sassenrath, the architect of AmigaOS, over about twenty years before its first public release in 1997; REBOL Technologies was founded the following year. It was built as both a general purpose language and a data exchange format, with a particular emphasis on network communication and distributed computing. Its most distinctive feature is what Sassenrath called dialecting, the ability to easily create small, optimized domain specific languages within Rebol itself, following a stated design goal of doing simple things in simple ways. Douglas Crockford has credited Rebol as an influence on the design of JSON, comparing its conceptual approach to Lisp, and Rebol's perceived limitations later inspired the creation of the open source Red programming language.
