Internet Protocols and Routing

This group gathers pioneers of computer networking whose primary contribution was designing the protocols, routing algorithms and network architecture that move data across a network, including TCP/IP and its congestion control mechanisms, routing protocols and router hardware, local area network technology such as Ethernet, email and messaging protocols such as IMAP and NTP, multicast and transport protocols, and the theoretical study of network performance, queueing and topology. It is the broadest and most general home for a networking pioneer whose specific contribution is protocol or network design itself, as distinct from a specific application area such as wireless transmission, data center infrastructure or network security.
